If you’re an avid hiker, Connecticut has many hiking trails you can go to get a good cardiovascular workout, fresh air, and enjoy scenic views. Connecticut offers outstanding hiking trails, including Bear Mountain Trail and Mianus River Park.

The Bear Mountain Trail is a 6.10-mile trail at Mount Riga State Park, connecting the state lines of Connecticut, Massachusetts, and New York. It is very popular with hikers, campers, and bikers, and, on average, it takes close to 4 hours to complete on foot. The trail has beautiful natural vegetation, waterfalls, and small streams. To Bear Mountain’s 2,316 feet peak, you get amazing views of mountains and lakes in Connecticut, Massachusetts, and New York.

Mianus River Park is 390 acres of the nature reserve at the Greenwich and Stamford border. It has plenty of hiking trails for beginner to advanced hikers. If you want a simple trail where you can see lots of wildlife and birds as you walk, do the 4.5-mile Yellow Loop trail that takes you around the park. Mianus River Park’s 2.5-mile nature trail that has 13 marked attractions along the way is another easy trail.
